Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect what we need to take your order, print it, ship it, and email you about it. We do not sell your information to anybody.

Who we are

Shit My Pants Shirts is operated by Horrible Tee Shirts LLC, 1249 County Road 1220, Moberly, MO 65270, United States. If you have a question about your information or want something deleted, email [email protected].

What you give us

  • Order information: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, an optional phone number for the carrier, and what you bought.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your username, email, password (stored encrypted), and your saved addresses and order history.
  • Reviews: the display name and the review text you submit on a product page.
  • Email list: your email address, if you sign up for our newsletter.
  • Messages: whatever you write to us when you email about an order or a problem.

What gets collected automatically

Like nearly every site, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you look at, and the site you came from. This comes from our hosting and security layer and from cookies. We use it to keep the store working, keep the cart attached to the right person, and block abuse.

Cookies

We use cookies for the things the store cannot function without: remembering what is in your cart, keeping you logged in, and letting checkout complete. Our payment and security providers also set cookies for fraud prevention. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout will stop working properly if you do.

Payment information

We never see or store your full card number. Card and account details are entered into and handled by Stripe and PayPal, who are responsible for that data under their own privacy policies. What comes back to us is the last four digits, the card brand, and whether the payment succeeded.

How we use your information

  • To take, process, print, and ship your order, and to handle replacements or refunds.
  • To email you order confirmations, shipping notices, and answers to your questions.
  • To calculate sales tax for your shipping address.
  • To send marketing email, but only if you asked for it.
  • To detect fraud, prevent abuse, and keep the site secure.
  • To meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with the companies that help us run the store. Each of them has their own privacy policy.

  • Printful — our print and fulfillment partner. They get your name, shipping address, and the items you ordered so they can make and ship the shirt.
  • Stripe and PayPal — payment processing and fraud screening.
  • Mailgun — delivers our order and marketing email, so it processes your email address and the message contents.
  • WooCommerce Tax — calculates sales tax from the address you enter at checkout.
  • Shipping carriers — whoever actually carries the package needs your address.
  • Our hosting and security providers — they store and protect the site and its database.
  • Law enforcement or regulators — only when we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as we need them for warranty claims, accounting, and tax purposes, which is generally seven years. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete it. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Basic security and server logs roll off after a short period.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link at the bottom of any message, and you will still get transactional email about orders you have placed. You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or export it. Email us and we will take care of it, usually within 30 days.

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a consumer privacy law, you have the rights that law gives you, including the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of on that front. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, we handle your information to fulfill our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in running a secure store, and you have the rights the GDPR gives you, including the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

Children

This store is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, passwords are stored hashed, and payment details never touch our server. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

Where your information goes

We are based in the United States and our data is processed here. Our fulfillment partner prints in facilities in several countries, so if your order is printed outside the US, your name and shipping address travel with it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date below.
